Spot186
Our story

It started with a $186 quote for one post.

Well, technically it started with a $7,254 invoice. The $186 is just what it works out to.

Crumpled agency invoice showing $7,254 per month and $87,048 per year

I'm a business owner. I don't have a marketing department. What I do have is a business I've poured years into and a quiet dread every week that we're invisible online.

So I called agencies. And I got the cheapest quote I could find in the market:

Monthly retainer$7,254
Annual total$87,048
Coverage3 platforms · 3 posts/wk · 52 wks
Per post$186

That was the cheapest. And it came wrapped in a story about how well they'd get to know my brand.

$186 per post.
No strategy. No graphics. No ads. One post.

Then it got worse

Another agency offered to come to our office. For $1,000 a day.

I asked the reasonable question: what value do you bring?

The answer, delivered with a straight face: "Taking photos. And monitoring the progress."

The math

About 5 posts came out of that $1,000 day.
That's $200 per post, more expensive than the $186 quote.

The one question

What is the return on investment?

Simple. Fair. The first thing any business owner would ask before writing an $87,048 cheque.

Not a single agency could answer it. Not one could show historical data from other clients. Not one could point to a chart, a case study, a number.

Nothing to be shown.

"No one knows my brand better than me. I just don't have time to sit at a laptop every day turning what I know into posts."

, The realization

Then I found out how the sausage was made.

The agencies weren't hand-crafting anything. They were using AI. The same AI I could use. They were the middleman charging me a mortgage to type prompts, and still couldn't tell me what I was getting for it.

I wanted software that would sit down with me for an hour, actually understand what my business is, and then run the whole marketing operation while I approve it once a month.

And I wanted it to teach me along the way. So I'd never again be at the mercy of someone selling me a $186 post I couldn't measure.

Why "Spot186"

The name is the number that made me build this.

Spot

A spot is the industry word for a single piece of content, a post, a placement, a moment in the feed. It's also the spot you deserve in your customer's mind.

186

The $186 that snapped the whole thing into focus. We kept the number as a reminder: never build anything a small business owner can't afford, and never ship anything we can't measure.

Our entire platform costs less than one of their posts.

01
You own the brand

You approve everything. Nothing goes live without you. Nobody knows your business like you do.

02
Priced like a tool, not a retainer

Less than the cost of one of their posts. Every month. Forever.

03
Always show the ROI

Every post, every campaign, every dollar, measured, reported, explained in plain English.

Built by an owner. For owners.

If you've ever stared at an agency invoice and thought "there has to be another way", you're in the right place.
